Whereas Anathem was like good atmospheric music, this was annoying, like being subjected to old ladies gossiping on the bus when your headphones break. The stories did seem interesting and I didn’t mind the readers voices, but it just wasn’t keeping my attention–maybe it was the cadence? Anyway, about 90 minutes into the five and a half hour recording, I gave up and figured I’ll try to read it, but I’ll come back to it later in the year.
