Storytelling: Kotobuki Tarako

{Kotobuki Tarako} Concrete Garden-02

I often find myself at a loss for words when I want to express my thoughts regarding Kotobuki’s work. It’s usually so engaging that even after I’m finished, I’m still in that world, just marveling at all that has taken place, all that has been said, and how she leaves so little to be read between the lines, but still manages to keep you in suspense and contemplating. Her narratives on, quantum physics, metaphysics, evolution, fear, and conceptual relativity always keep me wide-eyed and occasionally entranced.

I can’t figure out whether she’s a misanthrope or if she just likes to detach herself and explore her species and its environment to dramatic and sobering ends.
