Isino Aya: Sink Into You

This is a collection of stories and it’s a perfect example of what I don’t like about collections. Sometimes too sparse, too superficial, or too aimless. Rarely enough to sink my teeth into.

Drip – It wasn’t bad, but there seemed to be no modulation; it was to the point where I was ready to just write the whole thing off. Things happened, of course, but it didn’t provoke me in any way, except for the erotic food scene.

Les Feuilles Mortes – A continuation of “Drip.” This part gives a blink of a view of how the guys have progressed. It’s bittersweet.

Seed – A continuation of “Les Feuilles Mortes.” I’m glad I decided to keep reading, because this part of the story was good and kind of made up for the monotony of the first.

Sweet Baby, Heavy Baby – It was like a long joke with a painful punchline.

Lollipop – Riba! And my favorite kind too: one right after the other.

Larghetto – Sad in a heart-crushingly pathetic kind of way.

Left Behind – A prequel to “Larghetto,” but disconnected.

Spark – A prequel to “Left Behind.” In the context of the whole story, it’s interesting.

Winning Streak – Very short and I think it missed the mark.

Ending and Beginning – Sad in a pointlessly pathetic kind of way.

The Soloist – Enh.

Happy Man – A quick prequel to the first two chapters of Weekend of Dreams.
