Oscar Wilde: Lord Arthur Savile’s Crime and Other Stories

Read by Sir Derek Jacobi

Round 2. So I found Jacobi’s reading of the Americans in The Canterville Ghost to be much more to my liking than the previous recording, but, overall, I was irked by the slight oww-like lisp he had. I am certainly not the expert on Jacobi’s speech patterns, but I’m sure I’ve heard him deliver lines without it. I tried, but after awhile, I just couldn’t. I’m giving up on this one. There were only two stories in the collection that I hadn’t already read, so it’s fine–I’m sure I have them in print anyway.
