Finally we get to see how Kirishima handles an unwanted suitor as well as Hiyori’s feelings about the possible addition of a new mother. Lots of jealousy coming from Yokozawa and a bit from Kirishima, too. I realized two things with this volume. First, and I don’t know how I missed it, but they have a dynamic that I’ve wanted to see for a while; the older more relaxed and playful seme with a younger uptight uke. Well, I like to think they’re reversible, but, for the time being, they aren’t being written that way. Second, there are so many obstacles to surmount before Yokozawa will know what it’s like to chill. Even when Hiyori learns about their relationship–and accepts it–Yokozawa is still going to worry about how they look in the eyes of the public–work, Kirishima’s parents, Hiyori’s maternal grandparents, their neighbors, Hiyori’s friends… Even if their little trio couldn’t be happier, he will never not worry about how their family will affect Hiyori’s life. Will she be teased or bullied or shunned? It’s never ending and it makes me realize how much like her other ongoing series this story is. Same story, different volume. And it disappoints me. Though I was happy to see what Yasuda looks like. And now that he’s more than just a name and pretty active in the beginning of this volume, I am wondering again what’s in store for him. Also, the art. Still getting used to it.
