This is the first time I’ve run across this publisher and their titles. The art looks great.

  • Himitsu  Studio // Arena

C01: “approx. 44 pages of hot sweaty bloody men!”

I’m guessing Spartacus has sparked a fire in the hearts of the fu-hito and now we’re being gifted with paperbacks to fan the flames. Arena’s synopsis seems pleasing enough, let’s hope the story lives up to or surpasses the art. Chapter 1 is on sale now.

Novel: “approx. 300 pages with 20 illustrations – with cocks!”

WebWhile Arena pulls us back to the Classical era, Orochi seems to be catapulting us into the future. The synopsis seems like a mix of a bunch of stories I’ve already read and a few movies I’ve already seen. I’m seeing a trend, but I’m still going to give it a go. Release is slated for July.

From their About page:

“…our plan of attack is to conquer the tradeshow circuit in the US and Japan as well as offer all our titles in print and digital formats so our fellow citizens in the far corners of the earth can enjoy our works without the suppressive forces of shipping and customs.”

There’s a PayPal button on Arena’s page, but it seems to be just for the print. This is my assumption that’s based on the thought that $12.95 is quite steep a price for 44 digital pages. Perhaps they will update it when the books begin shipping, which is May 20th-25th, according to the site. We’ll see.

Do any of you guys know about this? What do you think?

Notes: Arena has since gone independent and is now being written and drawn by Lehanan Aida (formerly of Himitsu Studio).
